Drs. Steel are the first husband and wife dentists in the world to both become Accredited Cosmetic dentists through the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (1995). The AACD is the largest organized association of Cosmetic Dentists, with members in over 50 countries, and has the most rigorous and respected credential in the art and science of Cosmetic Dentistry (www.AACD.com).
Drs. Linda and Chip have been the Official Cosmetic Dentists for the Miss Maryland USA Pageants since 1998.
Since 1996, the doctors have served on the AACD Board of Examiners, which tests other dentists pursuing Accreditation, and have taught workshops emphasizing the skills necessary for excellence in cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Linda Steel served as Editor of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Newsletter for 3 years, and on the Editorial Board of the AACDJournal.
Dr. Chip Steel served as both the Chairman of Accreditation and Chairman of the AACD Board of Governors (American Board of Cosmetic Dentistry), which oversees the examinations in Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Linda was Chair of the International Charitable Foundation “Give Back a Smile” for 2 years. GBAS provides volunteer Cosmetic Dentistry services for survivors of domestic violence.
Dr. Chip has compiled and edited manuals on dental photography and excellence in Cosmetic Dentistry which are used by dental schools across the United States and by dentists worldwide.
The doctors have practiced in historic Sandy Spring, Maryland (Montgomery County) since 1987. Continuing education and community service remain important to their practice and lives. They are the proud parents of two sons.
